BlanketID

16 Mar

If you remember, a few entries back I talked about a favorite blog of mine called under the blanket and the attached company that sells a product called blanketIDs. The owner of both blog and company, Cate, was so thrilled by my kind words that she sent me not only one, but two blanketIDs!

One for me and one for a friend!

Even though mom wanted me to have the brown one, how could I pass up a cute tag with a butterfly on it? I am quite girly after all.

Plus it matches my collar.

After some deliberation (or arguing on my part as I wanted to keep the other tag in case I decided I wanted a new collar and it just happened to match the Rainbow Neutral tag. Mom says that kind of defeats the purpose of the tags as you get one specific number attached to one specific tag) I decided that I would give the other tag to my friend Leo. I can’t say that Leo and I are best friends as he is sometimes overwhelmed by me and I am sometimes annoyed by him, but we do hang out an awful lot and our mothers are very good friends. Plus one time he totally ran away from his mom (which may or may not have had something to do with me trying to play with him) so him having a blanketID is probably a good thing if that were ever to happen again (which hopefully will never happen).

It really is important to have as much of a safety net as possible if your pooch or kitty (the tags can be used for cats too!) goes missing. A safe and quick return is always the goal when something goes awry. The blanketID is just another helpful tool where you can compile a profile about your dogs allergies, vet’s numbers and address, special needs, and contact information as well as a recent photo that can be quickly e-mailed to local vet’s, animal shelters, rescues or printed into a poster to be handed out if for some reason a pet disappears. I hope mom will never need to use that service, but just knowing that it’s there makes us both feel safer.

Happy tail wags!

(A silly human law from the FTC is making me say the following: I received the blanketID as a gift from the Blanket company. All opinions expressed are solely my own and were not influenced by receiving a blanketID.)

Oh Gosh! I think the tags look absolutely spectacular on both of you!
Thanks again for spreading the word. It makes me so proud to see you wearing them.
I really have got a huge smile on my face.

I’m glad I made you smile. I definitely wag my tail extra hard when I hear the tag make it’s little jingly noise on my collar.

My mom wants to thank you again Cate. These are great and a perfect size for little dogs like us. My mom put mine on a hook since I have a few collars.

I did run away from mom once and it was all Pru’s fault, but unfortunetly when I did I slipped my harness and was totally naked with no ID at all. I’ve known Pru for a year now and have learned to tolerate her. Maybe someday we’ll be friends, if she stops bullying me!

Oh yeah, one time I got closed out of the house on accident and no one knew I was outside. I stood at the front window for half an hour dancing back and forth until someone noticed me. Mom says I’m sneaky.

Nice to hear from you Leo. Your story is a bit scary! but did you know that now your tag has been registered you can get found even if you’re not wearing it , so that should make you feel a little better.
