Mutt Walk

22 Jun

I am a little late in posting about this as the summer has seen me spending much time at the beach and not enough time forcing my mom to help me write blog posts. Even still, this event was far too much fun to skip mentioning, so here goes.

A few weekends ago, the Camden-Rockport Animal Rescue League(CRARL) held their annual Mutt Walk in Camden and Belfast (Belfast being a new route location). The Mutt Walk is one of the fundraisers for the shelter to help pay for all the necessary items that are needed to take care of all the animals until they find a forever home. Willing participants and their pooches can garner sponsorship money to participate in the walk that goes through downtown Camden. Last year, we learned of the walk too late so we were unable to have time to find sponsors. This year we were very much prepared (and even roped Angelica and Leo into joining us!).

Though they were more than happy to participate.

The Mutt Walk started at the CRARL where the staff handed out bandanas to the dogs and Mutt Walk tees to the humans.

I look snazzy in polka dots, no?

After some canoodling with the other walks, both four-legged and two-legged, and some pre-walk hydration, it was time to set foot and paw to the route. While the walk itself was only 2 miles (with a rest halfway), it was quite warm. Thankfully the CRARL staff thought ahead and placed water stations at key points throughout the route. It was a blessing, even if I had to deal with left over slobber from some of the big dogs.

A tongue like that can produce a lot of slobber!

Of course, being the wonderful diva that he is, Leo barely set paw to the ground. Instead, he was pushed in a stylish carriage that Angelica fixed up earlier that week. As he can be a little nervous around crowds of dogs, being separated from them in that manner seemed to ease his stress a little.

And he only tried to run me over once.

At the halfway point, a barbeque and refreshment stand was set up in a nice shady nook. There, awards were handed out for Top Dog (the human and dog who raised the most money), Biggest Dog, and Smallest Dog. Though it came down between Leo and I, Leo took home the title of Smallest Dog (the lucky scamp!).

All in all it was a really fun day, and an exhilarating if not dog-gone tiring event. Events like the Mutt Walk make fundraising for a, animal shelter like CRARL seem less like work and more like a tail-wagging good time.

2nd Annual Pooch Parade

21 Jun

It’s that time of the year again where the days are nice and long, the temperature rises (as does my tendency to break into a pant), and the humans start eating (and sometimes sharing) that delicious thing called ice cream. Summer also harkens the annual town Summer Solstice celebration in which the entirety of Main Street is blocked from traffic and a whole host of street vendors, bands, and tons and tons of people come out to party in the name of the turning of the seasons.

Like last year, The Loyal Biscuit Co hosted a Pooch Parade at the beginning of the Summer Solstice. And, also like last year, my mom and I decided to participate. Of course, as the Pooch Parade also doubles as a contest (one of the categories being “Most Creative Costume”), I couldn’t be in the parade without a costume. This time around, instead of a sailor, my mom made me a hula-girl outfit (as suggested by my friends Hurley and Dusty on twitter).

I may just be the cutest hula-girl ever.

Unlike last year, I wasn’t as overwhelmed by the forming crowds, the romping dogs, and the loud honking from the bands. In fact, I acted the seasoned parade participant and sniffed many a butt in greeting. My friend Jenny was there along with her brother Jack, the long haired Akita, and their human Marie. For their costume, Jenny was “Miss J” the diva rapper, Jack was her security guard, and Marie acted the part of the ever present paparazzi.

Jack

I made so many more friends at the parade as well!

Willow

Xena

Oskar the Chihuahua and his Havanese friend

The parade route was the entire length on Main St and ended directly in front of the Loyal Biscuit. There we were greeted by Heidi from the Biscuit, as well as a Planet Dog spokes-human, Jenna from Zelda’s Biscuit Bakery, and the humans behind TriPom Chews and Smart Pup. The last four humans acted as the judges for the contest. The categories being judged were: Cutest Puppy Ever, Tiniest Puppy, Most Creative Costume (as mentioned earlier), and Largest Dog. Obviously the Largest Dog and Tiniest Puppy had clear winners; Jack and Oskar respectively. Xena won Cutest Puppy Ever. And Most Creative Costume went to me! I almost started nervously chewing my claws in anticipation as the judges deliberated. I thought Jenny and her entourage had me beat, but lo and behold, I was reigning costume champ again!

Celebratory hula!

My prize was a wonderful goodie bag of yummy treats (and a few other surprises like a gift certificate) from The Loyal Biscuit. Between that, and all the yummy samples from the judges (biscuits, chicken jerky, and yummy dog smoothies galore!), my belly was so stuffed by the time I returned home. I can’t wait for next year’s parade. I’m all ready brainstorming costume ideas!

Let There Be Cake

6 Jun

If you’ve been a reader of my blog for awhile, it comes as no surprise that I love food. Eating is one of my favorite things up there with walks, chew toys, and running on the beach. So when I got an offer to try a cake mix from the online dog bakery supply store, K9 Cakery, it made me so tail-waggingly happy. I also wanted the chance to showcase K9 Cakery because a lot of my human friends are in the dog treat making business, and every dog knows that you can’t make dog treats without things like dog-themed cookie cutters. So K9 Cakery could become a useful place for them to shop!

Anyway, I was sent one of their homemade sugar, gluten, wheat, corn, and soy free cake mixes for my mom to make for me. And could you believe, the mix I received was the Savory Chicken Doggie Cake Mix. Chicken is only one of my favorite foods! I had to have mom bake it up for me right away. She had to improves for the frosting, so she used some Greek yogurt and a few Itty Bitty Buddy Biscuits and a Bocce’s Bakery (I’m going to do a review of Bocce’s Bakery soon!) cookie for decoration.  The cake was super simple (or at least seemed that way to me. My mom assured me it was) to make. There were only a few ingredients to add to the mix so it wasn’t incredibly complicated.

Unfortunately for me, it had already been decided that I would not be enjoying this delicious smelling (it honestly smelled like roasted chicken) cake all by myself. Which is how I found myself at The Loyal Biscuit with the two shop dogs Chuck and Fenway, trying hard not to drool as my mom cut the cake. Fenway decided that one piece of cake wasn’t enough for her, so she gobbled her piece as well as Chuck’s and mine (so obviously she liked it!). She even ate them so fast that my mom didn’t even have time to snap a photo (though I think all the giggling she was doing didn’t help either). Thankfully, Chuck and I each got another piece and Fenway was sent back to her bed. Chuck was equally as enthused about his piece of cake and gobbled it down. I, on the other hand, am too much of a lady to gobble. So I took my time licking off all the yogurt and then taking dainty bites until every crumb was gone. It was so very delicious we even got seconds!

If you’re feeling like you want to start your own doggy cake or treat making business, or if you just want to whip your dogs up some healthy and delicious treats, you’ll definitely want to check out all that K9 Cakery has to offer!

Who Doesn’t Love Presents?

17 May

Presents are wonderful. They make me so happy, and every time I use or wear or eat or think about my presents, that happiness continues on. Last week my birthday left me so brimming with cheer, my butt is still wagging. One of the sweetest gifts I received came from my friend Claudia and her three sweet pups who are behind Schnauzer-tude. Claudia make a donation in my name to the Humane Society of Knox County, my favorite animal shelter. Though I do like having gifts, I know that some of the best are ones that help other animals.

I also received a lovely package from Nip and Bones. Inside contained a present from my mom, an interactive treat toy called the Busy Buddy Twist ‘n’ Treat toy, and a couple of surprises from Salina and the every fluffy Baby Patches. I will talk about one of the surprises in another post because I want to do a whole review about it, but I can say I got a sample of these really tasty treats from Pawduke and an antler dog chew! From my mom I was given a bag of freeze-dried venison snacks from Nature’s Variety, a bag of treats from Zukes, and a yummy bone to chew on; all purchased from the Loyal Biscuit. The Busy Buddy has been a really fun toy to play with. You just unscrew the pieces, fill it with treats, screw the pieces back together and let your dog figure out how to get the treats out. It’s been fun to roll it around the living room with my nose. And the Pawduke treats work with the Busy Buddy perfectly! I was actually confused when I was first given one of the Pawduke treats because they are almost perfectly sphere. I thought it was a mini ball! My mom had to break one into pieces for me to realize I could eat it.

Of course, no birthday is complete without a special outfit made just for me by Angelica and Leo. My favorite part about this shirt is that it is made from one of my aunt’s old tank-tops, so it still smells like her. What you can’t see from the photo though (I was being a difficult model) is that the back has frilly little ruffles along the butt and a pocket! Each are lined with lace like the tall collar. It’s a very unique shirt, I have none like it in my wardrobe. I’m so happy to have it!

I’m also so very happy to have so many loving family members and friends who help make not only each birthday, but every day a wonderful event. My life would probably be very dull without you all, so thank you from the top, bottom, and middle of my sweet puppy heart.

Run-A-Hound 5K

25 Apr

What I often love about the community I live in is that the humans usually come up with some fun ways to raise money for certain causes and organizations. This weekend, an organization known as Youthlinks, an after-school program for humans age 11-17, decided to hold a human and dog race to benefit Youthlinks’ animal programs. The programs that Youthlinks provides help these young humans build their self-esteem, develop leadership skills, cultivate social responsibilities, and foster wonderful connections between peers as well as adult mentors. Many of the after-school programs involve animals, including volunteer work at the Humane Society of Knox County. In fact, this race, called the Run-A-Hound 5K, was actually based on one of the popular after-school opportunities, Run-a-Hound where high school students take dogs from the HSKC for a run to exercise and train them.

Anyway, mom’s new friend Marie asked both us, as well as Angelica and Leo to join her and her pug Jenny as the walking contingent of the race. Thank goodness for that, because running is just not my mom’s thing. So that’s how we found ourselves on a cold morning gearing up for an incredibly long walk.

From left to right, mom and I, Angelica and Leo, Jenny and Marie

The route

Being some of the smallest pups participating in the race, (I counted a couple Labs, two Greyhounds, a Standard Poodle, a Golden Retriever, a few large dogs of indeterminate heritage, and a very feisty Pomeranian who was more our size), we all hit the road walking knowing we were most likely going to wind up dead last. Obviously mom and I were more than happy to just complete the race as well as help out a great organization, so what place we landed wasn’t really all that important. Though, it was hard to pass up the $50 Loyal Biscuit, Co. gift certificate that was going to the winning racer and pooch.

At the end, the six of us crossed the finish line at a little over 58 minutes. Jenny was still bounding with energy (and looking for some treats), Leo, who was incredibly brave the entire trek, still looked incredibly stylish in his rainbow heart hoodie, and I was dog-gone exhausted and ready for a nap.

And that's exactly what I spent the rest of the day doing.

Stylish Blogger Award

4 Apr

A couple of weeks ago, my very good human friend Cate from blanketID and Under the Blanket informed me that she had awarded me, as well as 14 other great blogs the Stylish Blogger Award! I am one incredibly honored pup. Cate knows stylish, and to be considered a pooch worthy of her attention is a wonderful thing. So thank you very much, Cate! Of course, there are a few stipulations to this award; stipulations that I am very excited to accomplish. First I have to list seven things about myself that you may not know about me. I’m usually very open in my posts, so this took a lot of brain storming. I think I’ve come up with a pretty unique list though!

1. I was not only the only female in my litter, but I was also the only pup with apricot coloring. Both of my brothers were black with white markings on their bellies and paws. They were also much curlier than me.

2. The claws on my back feet are white, while the claws on my front feet are black; all except for one claw which is white. 3. I am very overprotective of my tail. If it gets touched or if one of the cats try to bat at it, I tuck it in and sit on it.

4. The blond hair on my head wasn’t there when I was a puppy. Instead of blond, I had little bits of black hair. During one of my grooming session, my mom trimmed down the hair on my head to reveal a small blond patch. It has since grown from a patch to cover my entire head!

5. When I hear the words “walk” or “ride,” even if the humans are just having a conversation, I will run to the front door.

6. My gramp works for a taxi company called Joe’s Taxi. Because he often comes to visit me during his taxi time, I now think every Joe’s Taxi is driven by him. Whenever I see one, my tail starts wiggling and I get incredibly excited. 7. My clothing wardrobe has now expanded to fill two big totes. Eventually, my mom wants to get me my own mini closet.

The second part of accepting the Stylish Blogger Award is to nominate 15 other blogs to pass the award on to. Obviously this is even tougher than coming up with facts about myself (I am my favorite subject after all), but here I go!

Road Dog Tales: Ever wonder what it would be like to take a road trip around the US with your favorite hounds in tow? The Road Dog crew is doing just that and blogging about their adventures the whole way!

Speaking for Spot Blog: Dr. Nancy Kay, the author of Speaking for Spot, keeps a great blog about useful things every dog caretaker should know.

To Dog With Love: A cute blog written by my furry pal Cosmo and human Diane. I love reading about Cosmo’s agility competitions.

The Honest Kitchen Blog: Not only does The Honest Kitchen make some of the best food on the block, but they also keep an incredibly informative blog where they talk about everything from health issues to yummy foods you can add to your pets diet to new updates about the company.

I Still Want More Puppies: Pup Fan’s blog is always a great stop when you need to watch some cute pet videos and squeal over adorable photos.

K-9 Solutions Dog Training, Inc.: Marie is one of my great new human pals! Her blog not only documents her work with the local Humane Society of Knox County, the daily comings and goings of her two dogs Jack and Jenny, but also some really thought-provoking posts.

Life @ Silly Dogs: Sam and Kelly’s webcomic is one of my new favorite stops on the internet. Their comics are bright, colorful, and above all tail-waggingly hilarious!

Oh My Dog!: I don’t think I can explain Oh My Dog! any better than how it is explained in the “About Me” page: “[it's] a site for all things dog,” including product reviews, recipes, tips, and tons of photos and stories about the Oh My Dog! crew.

Pawcurious: Dr. V’s blog was the main inspiration for my mom to start this blog for me. It was the first pet-centric blog she ever started to read and she’s still obsessed.

Pawesome: Everything you’d ever want in a fun pet-blog you can find on Pawesome: photos, new products, links to other nifty articles and blogs, great information, funny videos, and my favorite, their curbed posts that feature pets spotted by the various blogging team.

Phetched: Phetched often gets my mom in trouble with her bank account! Katherine always features the freshest and hippest pet products on the market. Pretty much every post will make you think “my pet TOTALLY needs that!”

Boulder Dog: Deborah’s stories about living with her shy and sometimes fearful muse, Sadie the Standard Poodle, have been some of the best posts my mom has ever read. This blog is definitely an amazing read and will really make you think.

Confessions of the Plume: Baby Patches is one of the pawesomest kitties I know. Her blog details all the adorable things about her life.

Dog Milk: Like Phetched, Dog Milk features some very barkworthy pet products. Also incredibly dangerous for the bank account.

Boogie’s Blog: Boogie’s Blog is Boogie-centric. This cutie of a Boston Terrier has a dedicated human who chronicles Boogie’s struggles with skin issues, aggression problems, and general adorability.

Let’s Adopt the Internet

14 Mar

Tomorrow is going to be a very exciting day. Why? Because it’s Adopt the Internet Day!In celebration of their 15th birthday, Petfinder decided to celebrate in a big way; namely, asking the internet and those that frequent it to spend the day spreading the word about adoptable pets. Anyone can sign the pledge to promise that they will tell at least one person about pet adoption. If you plan on blogging, tweeting, or dedicating your Facebook page or status to this event, you can attach a link to your adoption related posts on the list of posts that will be featured on the front page of Petfinder starting tomorrow (if you’re tweeting, make sure to use the hashtag #adopttheinternet).

As of now, some really great blogs and websites have already promised to dedicate their space to Adopt the Internet Day. ICanHasCheezburger is running a caption contest where they are looking for captions for Petfinder adoptable pet photos. On March 15th, the best will be chosen and featured all day on their homepage. PeoplePets, FIDOFriendly, Animal Planet, Oprah.com, Dogster, Catster, and PetSugar, are just some of the over 50 websites and blogs that are going to be participating tomorrow, not to mention the countless people on twitter and facebook. And, of course, you can plan on me posting a post or two tomorrow (I think I even roped Harry, who was adopted from the Humane Society of Knox County, into writing a guest post featuring his adoption story).

If you’d like to participate, make sure you sign the pledge (when you pledge, you are automatically signed up for a chance to win one of ten BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Vacuums!), grab a badge for your blog or site if you have one, and get to informing the world as to why adoption is so great.

Let’s help make Petfinder’s 15th birthday (and over 17 million adoptions) one that they will never forget!

Zelda’s Biscuit Bakery

22 Feb

A few weekends ago my mom and I took a special trip to The Loyal Biscuit. Of course, any trip to the Biscuit is a special occasion because it usually ends in me getting something delicious and/or fun and squeaky. This time, however, I was on a mission; to discover a new delicious treat from a Maine company called Zelda’s Biscuit Bakery. Zelda’s Biscuit Bakery is a small owner-operated dog treat business based in Richmond, Maine. Run by a very kind human named Jenna, Zelda’s Biscuit Bakery is named after (and the pup who is also the face of the company) an affable pit bull named Zelda. The biscuits are all gluten and grain-free, are made out of as many locally grown ingredients as possible, and currently come in one flavor: peanut butter and honey. All orders are baked fresh and in small batches so nothing goes to waste (plus Zelda and her two other pup-siblings Oliver and Sadie are always on hand for quality control and to scarf up any leftovers). What’s also great about Zelda’s Biscuit Bakery is that 10% of all proceeds go to The Dog Rehabilitation Center of Maine, a behavioral rehabilitation, doggy day camp, and boarding facility located in Greene, Maine (and a topic of an upcoming blog post!).

I had been hearing a lot about Jenna’s treats and company during my many trips to the Biscuit. My mom was hesitant to buy me a bag because, as I’ve mentioned before, I can be very picky when it comes to treats. That was why we stopped by the day that Jenna had set up a nibbling table. Boy was that a good idea! Not only did I discover that I absolutely love the biscuits from Zelda’s Biscuit Bakery, but I also met Jenna and learned more about her pawesome, home-grown business. She even gave us the scoop on the next flavor she’s been working on and all I’ll say is that it involves cranberries.

So far the peanut butter and honey treats have not only been a hit with me (every time I hear my mom open the package I come a-running with my tail a-wagging) but the humans seem to love them too, or at least the smell of them. Zelda’s Biscuit Bakery peanut butter and honey treats smell just like the peanut butter sandwiches that the humans like to eat (and don’t like to share).

If you’re interested in purchasing a bag of Zelda’s Biscuit Bakery treats, you can check out the etsy site, you can email Jenna at zeldabiscuitbakery@gmail.com, or keep checking the website for a soon to be updated online store.

Silly Humans

20 Jan

I don’t know what it is, but we four-legged beasties tend to bring out the babbling sillies in our human counterparts. Just a look from my big brown eyes makes my humans resort to what I now refer to as “puppy talk” (though it also works for kitties). Here are just a few examples of the funny words my humans use when they talk to me.

“Lunches”= lunch

In a sentence: “Are you hungry Prudence? Would you like lunches?”

“Din-din”= dinner

In a sentence: “Prudence, stop watching me eat. You already had your din-din.”

“Cuddles”= hugs and kisses

In a sentence: “Stop running away Prudence! All I want is some cuddles.”

“Potty”= that thing I do outside that I don’t like to talk about much

In a sentence: “You’ve asked to go potty three times in the past half hour. I think you’re tricking me.”

“Walkies”= walks

In a sentence: “It’s called walkies, Pru, not runnies or bark-at-squirrels-ies.”

“Noms”= food (sometimes treats)

In a sentence: “These are my noms Prudence, not yours. Stop drooling on my leg.”

“Chewy”= Chew treats like bully sticks

In a sentence: “That chewy is so stinky! Take it in your room.”

“Squeaky”= toy (even if they don’t squeak)

In a sentence: “No Prudence! My slipper is not a squeaky!”

“Poop” = a naughty dog

In a sentence: “Prudence is being a poop. She chased Harry all around the living room and under my bed!”

“GG” = my great-grandmother

In a sentence: “Pru, we go to GG’s to visit, not to use her house as a toilet.”

“Bell-bell”= belly

In a sentence: “Someone’s bell-bell is rumbling. Is it time for din-din?”

It’s quite an interesting phenomenon. Anyone else get reduced to spouting off silly words when talking to their pets?

Happy tail wags!

Pukka (the Pup After Merle) Interview

6 Jan

I had a wonderful opportunity to have an email based interview with Pukka, the pup behind Pukka: The Pup After Merle, a book I reviewed in yesterday’s blog post. I was quite thrilled that I could pick the mind of this thoughtful and wise pooch.

Pukka and Ted

1. Living in a town that is friendly to dogs, but not as open to them as Kelly and Jackson, I am quite jealous that you get to visit places like the post office, bank, and cafes. Do you have any thoughts as to why places in Kelly and Jackson seemed to be more receptive to dog visitors? Do you think there is anything we dogs, or even humans who care for dogs, can do to make certain areas of the world have a better attitude about making businesses dog-friendly?
First off, thank you for interviewing me, Prudence.  I appreciate it very much.  Kelly and Jackson are different places, separated by sixteen miles, with nothing in between but national park and national elk refuge.  Kelly only has ninety people and a dead-end road through it, so dogs get to be off-leash.  The post office is tiny and the postmistress friendly to dogs.  We can be out on the deck of the café, but not inside.  In Jackson, which has about 8000 people, dogs aren’t allowed in the busy post office anymore–boo-hoo!  But we can go to the bank, the bookstores, and some cafés.  I think we get to go so many places because Jackson Hole is in the middle of a lot of wilderness, there are about as many dogs as there are people, and people are outdoorsy and have a more laid-back attitude about things here than in big cities.  People seem less worried about dirt, don’t dress up as much, and are, well, more like dogs.

2. You talked a bit about Ted teaching you different things like sitting and laying down. Did Ted try different teaching techniques with you before settling on one that worked, or did he just pick one and stick with it?
2A. I did notice on page 93 what looked like a clicker, a tool my humans uses when she teaches me things. Was that something Ted used a lot in your schooling?
2B. Do you have any advice for humans and/or dogs who are either teaching their pups or learning from their humans?
Ted used a clicker from the start and rewarded me with elk or salmon jerky–mmm-mmm.  How could I not learn things quickly and the clicker made it easy to know exactly when I got it right.  As far a a technique, Ted would offer me some jerky in front of my nose, than move it toward the position he wanted me to be in.  It was so easy!  I also had lots of other dogs to learn from.  Sometimes that was good–I learned to do my business outside quickly.  And sometimes it wasn’t–a lot of my friends bark.  But Ted doesn’t like barking dogs and so we had to unlearn what I had learned from my friends.  He did this by putting me in the downstairs bathroom whenever I barked at the UPS or the FedEx delivery people.  Every time, back in the bathroom for two minutes.  Pretty soon I got the message.  No barking.  Skateboarders were harder.  I loved to bark at them and chase them.  So Ted took me to a skateboard park and we sat on the edge of it for a long time.  Sigh.  After a while, skateboarders weren’t that interesting anymore.

3. I’m terrified of swimming so just reading about your first rafting trip made me want to curl up and hide under the covers. You, however, seemed so confident and took everything in stride. Do you think it was your upbringing with Ted, the traits passed down from your dog mom and dog dad, or a combination of both that made you so?
I didn’t like water at first either, except warm water in the shower.  I loved taking showers with Ted.  But I didn’t want to cross streams.  Then Ted took me to a hot spring and walked across its outlet.  It was only a few inches deep and I cried and moaned when he went across, trying to find a way to reach him without getting my paws wet, but there wasn’t a way across.  Finally, I just leapt after him, but, unlike all the other irrigation ditches and puddles I had to cross that spring, this stream was warm.  Nice!  The next day Ted took me to a slightly wider stream.  I went across, not noticing that it was a bit colder.  From then on, it became easy to follow Ted across streams where I couldn’t reach the bottom with my paws.  I just moved my feet and I was swimming.  You should give it a try, Prudence.  I bet you’ll like it in gentle shallow water.

4. After your run-in with AJ [a not so friendly dog] as a pup, you said you learned that “a dog has to be careful and life’s not perfect.” Have there been any other instances so far in your life that have reminded you of that lesson?
Yep.  Another big dog tried to take a bite out of my left ear, but I was too quick and he only scratched me.  What I learned as a puppy is that you’ve got to keep your wits about you.  Now that I’m seventy pounds, I still am careful.  You never know when some dog might not be having a good day and take it out on you.

5. You often express your love of hiking, something I have yet to do but have been inspired to persuade my human to do with me. Would you say that this is your absolute favorite activity? Do you have any tips for hiking with your humans?
I love to hike, but I love to ski in deep powder snow even more.  Skiing in deep powder snow is like flying through the air, floating through a cloud.  It makes me feel like a bird.  As far as hiking with your human, you should try to come back and let them see you periodically so they know you’re safe.  There’s nothing worse than going off for ten or fifteen minutes and worrying your person to death.  I try to come back to Ted about every three minutes or so.

6. If you had to impart a single bite of wisdom to future generations of roly-poly puppies, what would it be?
Take the initiative!  Don’t get in the rut of being led around on a leash.  Explore new walks, learn new words, show your human that you’re a thinker so they give you the lead more often.

Thanks again, Pukka! And may there be many a juicy elk bone in your future!
You’re welcome, Prudence, and many bones to you!
